Alert: Nova Diabetes Care Test Strip Recall

As of last week, Nova Diabetes Care announced a voluntary recall of 21 lots of the Nova Max Glucose Test Strips. The concern is in regards to the strips reporting a false level of blood glucose. The strips from the affected lots report higher than accurate blood glucose levels.

Sellers, distributors and users of these test strips should stop using and providing the strips immediately and wait for replacement strips. False blood glucose levels could result in inaccurate insulin doses that could lead to serious health risks.

Users can use strips from any other lot that is not under recall while waiting for replacement strips. Users and providers can find more information regarding the recall and steps to take for using other strips and receiving replacements at www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm362845.htm.

If you have used these strips that are being recalled, then you should consult with your doctor and make sure you’re not suffering from inaccurate insulin doses. If medical complications are the result of using these strips, then you can file a personal injury claim for compensation.
